Multi-dimensional electron microscopy and spectroscopy techniques at the edge!
Prof Emilie Ringe and her group collaborated with Cambridge University, University of Pittsburgh, and the Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons to study platinum nanoparticles (diameter = 3-6nm) grown on gold nanoprisms. Such architecture showed to retain strong localized surface plasmon resonances.
