Houston experienced a major tropical storm after hurricane Harvey hit the coast of Texas. Houston homes were affected, and people needed to be evacuated.
As a safe action, Rice University remained closed for over a week. Fortunately, only minor damages were caused to Rice campus, and activities were successfully resumed on Tuesday, September 5.
